Dozens of students abducted by gunmen in northwest Nigeria

 Many understudies were kidnapped Monday by equipped criminals at Bethel Baptist High School in Damishi town of Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna State in northern Nigeria. 

A gathering of shooters raged the school early Monday, at around 2 a.m., shooting inconsistently as they hijacked the understudies, said police representative Mohammed Jalije. The specific number of understudies taken by the criminals isn't yet sure, he said. 

John Hayab, whose child goes to the school and who barely got away from the snatching, said around 180 understudies go to the secondary school. 

"We can't give the specific figure of those snatched for the time being, until the individuals who ran into covering up for security are back and a registration of the understudies is taken, yet we realize they took a great deal of understudies," he said. "I'm simply confused, I don't have the foggiest idea what to say. My child was among the understudies who barely got away." 

"I'm important for this heartbreaking episode since it is my congregation," he added. "This is incredibly, dismal for us."

Hayab, who is the executive of Christian Association of Nigeria, revealed to The Associated Press on Monday that up until this point, 26 understudies had returned and he was confident that more would escape from their ruffians. 

This is the fourth snatching of understudies in Kaduna state in the previous a half year. There have been seven mass kidnappings of understudies in Nigeria so far this year. 

The kidnappings are being done by outfitted gatherings who need ransoms. Numerous schools have been compelled to close as specialists can't sufficiently ensure them.
